With barbeque season well underway in Leicestershire now, people from all over the city will be heading to Leicester Market to stock up on ingredients.

The Food Hall at the market boasts plenty of stalls and outlets that can provide customers with quality produce for a sizzling hot barbeque. One of those outlets in particular is Andrew Sykes Butchers.

They claim to have the largest barbeque selection throughout the whole market – and that is difficult to argue with considering the huge range of meats they have on offer.

Offering the standard barbeque features such as burgers, sausages and steaks, they also offer ribs, chicken wings, lamb koftas and much more.

However, as Porche Russell of Andrew Sykes explains, it is not just the meat that sets them apart but the fantastic range of flavours and varieties that can be picked up.

She said: “We do peri peri drumsticks, Jamaican jerk drumsticks but we can change to meet anyone’s preferences. We do chicken wings as well.

“We do plain chicken wings or any flavour to meet anyone’s favourites. We have minted, lemon pepper seasoning, chinese, barbeque, hot and spicy, tikka.

“We change all of our sausages on a weekly basis as well. We have brought some new ones. All of our sausages are homemade.

“We do the smoky paprika, smoky barbeque, hot Spanish, chilli cheese, King Richard which is Wild Boar, cheddar and spring onion, plain pork, thin pork.”

The list then seems endless and it almost is, with Porche explaining that they have even received requests for a Cherry Cola flavoured rack of ribs.

With barbeque season creeping ever closer as the days go on, Andrew Sykes are expected to be extremely busy and are encouraging customers to get their orders in now so as to not miss out on any upcoming offers that they may have.

Porche said: “We do get really busy, especially when it comes to the burgers and sausages.

“We do preferably if it is a large order, we do prefer that customers ring up and give us an order so we can get it ready for them. We do get very busy and from Wednesday onwards, the barbeque section especially gets very busy.”
