Summer Food and Drink Festival Returns in May

The biggest and best one day food and drink event in Leicester returns to the Market on Sunday 29 May.

food fest small portraitThis year’s Summer Food and Drink Festival will host street food, local producers, farmers, a licensed Drinks Zone, cooking demonstrations, live music and much more.

Food available will include tasty global delicacies as well as local treats with kebabs, burgers, gourmet hot dogs, American-style smoked meat, cupcakes, baked goods, and preserves – to name but a selection of what will be on offer.

There will also be a selection of non-food stalls for browsing including hand-made arts and crafts.

The ever popular Drinks Zone will return for the festivites serving up a variety of refreshing summer time drinks. Here you can find a fully stocked bar including pub worthy cold draught lager, real ale from some of the best local breweries, tasty Prosecco cocktails with a summer twist, and of course Mocktails or other soft drinks for those looking for a non-alcoholic treat.

Drinks zoneIn addition to all of this there will be a live music stage, where there will be performances from some of Leicestershire’s talented musicians, with sound and stage provided by Leicester’s JTHire.

TV chef and actress Rustie Lee will also be attending the Festival as a special guest.

The Jamaican-born celebrity will be conducting cooking demonstrations throughout the event – where members of the public will able to get inspiration and tips, while also being able to try the finished dishes.

 

Rustie has a strong affinity with Leicester, and is a lifelong Leicester City Football Club fan.

The full Festival will run from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Admission is free for this jam-packed, family friendly, Bank Holiday Weekend event.
