The Return of Leicester’s Summer Food & Drink Festival

Sample food and drink from across our region with over 200 food and drink stalls, all jam-packed into Leicester’s historic market. This mouthwatering mix of culinary delights is in its second year and promises to be the most taste bud tangling success of the lot.
From spicy curries from the city’s best Indian restaurants to local cheese and meat farm produce from the counties, there really is something for everyone.

For the Over 18′s there is also the chance to quench your thirst in the “Market Beer Zone” featuring Everards Brewery, Langton Brewery, Thirsty Farmer Cider and others.
Plus, pick up an ‘Official Festival Flyer’ available at the Market’s Customer Care Building and other ‘What’s on’ display stands and enjoy a delicious free sample of Everards’ new Summer brew – WHAKATU.
The festival is very much a family occasion, as well as the individual stalls there is an array of entertainment and cookery demonstrations taking place in The Corn Exchange Square:

We look forward to welcoming you at Leicester’s Summer Food & Drink Festival 2011 – the largest regional one day free food festival.

Market Corner Officially Open!
Leicester Market’s £600,000 refurbishment, Market Corner, was officially opened on Friday May 13th.
Leicester’s recently elected Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, cut the ribbon to unveil Market Corner, which will provide more flexibility to the market through the use of 20 temporary, gazebo-style stalls.
Market Corner is located at the corner of Leicester Market and the historic Corn Exchange Building and the name was chosen following a public vote.
The area has been repaved, with power supplies and fittings for the new flexible stalls. New signage has been put up and the whole area has been given a deep clean ahead of the opening.
Food lovers will now have chance to sample the feast of freshly prepared food that will be standing every Friday and Saturday in the new open-air piazza and food court.
