Remembrance Service – 11th November 2013

November 4, 2013

PoppiesOn Monday, November 11, Leicester Market will come to a standstill, as shoppers and traders pay their respects in Market Square, from 10:50am.

Members of the Royal British Legion will gather for the commemoration service, which will be led by the Bishop of Leicester, the Right Reverend Tim Stevens.

At 11:00am, a bugler will sound ‘The Last Post’ to mark the beginning of two minutes’ silence. Reveille will be played to mark the end of the silence before the bishop leads prayers and a blessing.

The Market’s annual Remembrance Day service has become a focal point for people wanting to take time out of their busy working day to pay their respects.
