Raising Christmas Spirits at Leicester Market

In the run up to Xmas, Country Fayre, based in the indoor market are donning Santa & Elf costumes – all in the name of charity.

From Monday 21st December right up until Xmas Eve, visitors to one of Leicester Markets most popular stalls will be able to buy their festive cheese and meats from costumed staff and support a local children’s charity.

Charlotte’s Smiles is a charity which provides a variety of leisure activities to children suffering the effects of cancer and its work touched the heart of the Country Fayre, owner Tim Pole.

Tim said “I first found out about the work this charity does through a friend whose daughter benefitted from the activities put on through Charlotte’s Smiles. Last year we raised approx £800 which was turned into toys for Children’s Ward 27 and we are trying hard to beat that target this year.”

All donations given to the charity throughout this week Tim has pledged to personally match.
