Market Gets Festive

December 6, 2013

After the recent success of the Winter Food and Craft Festival, Leicester Market will be holding two Christmas Craft Mini Markets on Saturday 14th and Saturday 21st December in honour of Love Your Local Market Christmas.

From 10:00am – 4:00pm traders will be selling a variety of jewellery, handbags, scarves, trinkets, stained glass, handcrafted oak benches, knitted teddy bears, vintage china, eco-friendly ethical accessories, wooden frames, hand knitted hats, gloves and scarves and much more.

The event will have an emphasis on local traders selling handmade and specialty crafts.

To keep up the festive atmosphere, there will be performances from the Central Brass Band at 11:00am and 1:00pm on both days as well as from the DMU Gospel Choir at 12:00noon and 2:00pm in the Market Square.

Shoppers will be treated to free mince pies and mulled non-alcoholic punch from 12:00noon – 1:00pm to keep them warm as well as a face painter on Saturday 21 December only.

Adam Piotrowski, who is organizing the event said: “We want to encourage people to come to the market for a great variety of homemade crafts, that make excellent unique Christmas Gifts and also stop by the indoor and outdoor market to get all they need for those special Christmas meals. We’ve got everything from pheasants to specialty cheeses as well as nuts and all the veg you need for Christmas dinner.”
