Leicester Market Announce Food Festival Dates
After the success of Leicester’s First Food Festival back in November 2009, Leicester City Council have announced the dates for the next Food Festivals to be held at the city’s market.
- Summer Food and Drink Festival 2010 – Sunday 30th May
- Winter Food Festival 2010 – Sunday 21st Nov
Joe Harkin, Market Development Manager, said “With consultation we have carefully listened to the feedback from all stakeholders involved with our first food festival and we intend to build and implement improvements on to what was a very well received event. We have decided on 2 large scale food events for 2010, each with their own unique identity. The first event at the end of May will be broadened to incorporate a more dedicated ‘drinks’ element, but will again will be an opportunity to showcase our region’s food produce and local businesses”
The Winter Food Festival will again coincide with the nearby switch on of Leicester City’s Christmas lights.
