Get Set for the Vegan Market

August 23, 2017

The number of vegans in the United Kingdom has risen by over 350% in the last ten years – and on Sunday 3 September, shoppers in Leicester will be able to find out why, as Leicester Market plays host to the latest Vegan Market.

Taking place at the Outdoor Covered Market between 11.00am and 3.00pm, entry to the Vegan Market is free, with a number of stalls on hand to sell a variety of food, artisan cheeses, clothes, arts, crafts, cosmetics and gifts.

Are you a lover of street food? If so, there will be a number of stalls providing delicious vegan Mexican and Indian dishes, pizzas, burgers, smoothies and raw food. In addition to all that, you can enjoy the stalls selling clothes, arts, crafts, pots, plants, cosmetics, soaps, candles and much more. Those with a sweet tooth will also be satisfied with sumptuous cakes and deserts, including fresh donuts, Bakewell tarts, cheesecakes and milkshakes, on offer.

Children’s activities, including face-painting, will also be taking place during the course of the day, as well as cookery demonstrations that include advice on how to make your own vegan cheese!

Market organisers, Leicester Vegan Community, are running a competition with a chance to win £15 of vouchers to spend at the Vegan Market on 3 September!

ALSO on 3 September, why not head to the opposite side of Leicester Market for the second-ever Makers’ Market. Taking place at Market Square, the Makers’ Market showcases the talents of some of our county’s most exciting makers and creatives who make, bake, create and source the products they sell right here in Leicestershire.
