Eat, Drink and Be Merry – Winter Food Festival Success

November 22, 2016

winter-food-festival-16-imagesThe weather may have been drizzly, but the mood was bright at Leicester Market on Sunday 20th November, as thousands of foodies from around the county descended on this year’s Winter Food and Drink Festival to sample the culinary delights on offer.

A key attraction to this year’s Market showpiece was the public cooking demos provided by celebrity chef extraordinaire, Jean-Christophe Novelli, who delivered tips to the public ahead of a season where cooking and good eating go hand in hand.

Now in its eighth year, the Festival showcased some of the finest locally-produced food and drink, featuring more than 150 stalls selling a plethora of dishes and delights; from chocolates to takes, and paella to curry or pulled pork.

In addition to that, the Festival included a licenced drinks zone, which offered craft beers and a range of ciders, alongside a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

And, with Christmas shopping not to be ignored, 20 craft stalls allowed people to buy unique gifts including handmade jewellery, clocks, greeting cards and decorations.

Everybody at Leicester Market would like to thank everybody for making the 2016 Winter Food & Drink Festival such as success, including all of the fantastic traders that successfully fed the people of Leicester.
