Easter Eggstravaganza Coming to Leicester Markets

April 7, 2017

Over the course of the April Easter Bank Holiday weekend, visitors to Leicester Market will be able to enjoy a host of exciting Easter-themed activities.

On Saturday 15 April, Leicester Market will be hosting its annual Easter Bonnet competition, with some fabulous prizes up for grabs for the best young designers.

There will be THREE winners from each age group – 6 and under, and 7 to 12 – who will each receive a BRAND-NEW BIKE if their bonnets impress the panel of judges.

Any youngster wishing to participate is asked to make their bonnets at home and register online by CLICKING HERE ahead of the competition.

The finished bonnets should then be brought to Leicester Market on Saturday 15 April by 12.00pm.

The young designers will then have the chance to show off their creations to the judges during the traditional Easter Bonnet parade, which gets underway from 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, Beaumont Leys Market will also be joining in the Easter celebrations with a chocolate egg decorating competition for children on Good Friday (April 14).

The family fun day, which takes place between Beaumont Leys Market between 11.00am and 3.00pm, also features free face painting and balloon modelling.

Everybody decorating an egg will be able to take their egg home – and it will be entered into a competition, with a family ticket to the National Space Centre up for grabs.

All of our prizes have been donated by Leicester Market and Beaumont Leys Market traders.
