Don’t Flip Out – Join Us For Pancake Day Fun
Join us at Leicester Market for fun and delicious pancakes on Tuesday 13 February, as we play host to our fourth annual Pancake Day Race in aid of local hospice LOROS.
Commencing at 11.00am outside The Corn Exchange, tasty fresh pancakes will be served to all, with a suggested donations of £1 going directly to LOROS.
However, the real fun begins at 1.15pm, when four teams will compete in a relay race, with each runner tasked with flipping pancakes as they work their way around the course. The Market’s outdoor traders were the winners last year (above) – will a Market trader team emerge victorious once again this year?
Leicester Market’s traders have already pledged to make a £100 donation to LOROS in the name of the winning team.
With the day coinciding with February half-term, families can also enjoy face painting and a visit of LOROS’ Lionel the Lion; whilst those in attendance can customise their pancakes with a selection of delicious toppings.
Adam Piotrowski, Development Officer at Leicester Market, said: “Every year, our Pancake Day Race has got better – and we’re looking forward to our fourth annual event which will provide a great day out for the family during the February half-term break. We’ll have lots going on, with food and activities available for all – so we hope to see as many people supporting a great cause in LOROS, whilst also backing our runners in the main event.
“Already confirmed to compete are teams representing Leicester Market’s traders, LOROS and staff from nearby Ramada Encore – and we’re hoping to announce our final team shortly.”
