Continental Market: 30 October – 3 November 2013
Market traders from around the world will be serving up delicious treats and hand-crafted goods as an award-winning continental market returns to Leicester.
From Wednesday October 30th until Sunday, November 3rd, traders from around the world will be setting up stall in Gallowtree Gate and Humberstone Gate.
Visitors to the market will be able to try a huge variety of foods from all corners of the globe, including fresh Brussels waffles, authentic Spanish paella, French crepes, and traditional Jamaican jerk chicken.
There will also be the chance to buy exotic meats and speciality sausages, as well as cheeses, chocolate, coffee and other delicious treats from around the world.
With the festive season approaching, the market will also provide the perfect chance for shoppers to pick up some unique gifts or just treat themselves.
Among the goods on sale will be Native American handicrafts, Dutch plants and shrubs, furniture and carvings, handmade soaps and fair trade gifts.
City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: “Leicester city centre is a fantastic venue for visiting markets and the continental market has become a real attraction for shoppers keen to try something a bit different.”
The continental market will be open from 9am to 5.30pm Wednesday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
The market is organised by Leicester City Council’s markets team and Market Place Europe, the UK’s leading operator of special event markets.
