Leading on from Leicester Market’s successful vintage markets over the past year, Strictly Vintage will be the best place in Leicester to pick up unique original items.

The very best in local produce will be available to all – perfect for stocking up on those luxury food items for the festive season.

The Farmers and Fine Food Market takes place at Market Corner and runs from 10:00am until 4:00pm on Saturday 17th December, offering fresh, local produce at great prices.

The first performance of Market Forces is free and will run from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Sunday 11th December, followed by an after show discussion in the Cellar Bar of the Corn Exchange. The play is written, produced and staged by this exciting new East Midlands-based theatre company. Four local playwrights were commissioned to write in collaboration and have used Leicester Market as their inspiration and venue.

Artistic Director Gary Phillpott said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to be involved in the creation of new theatre. This performance will give Midlands-based playwrights, actors, directors and technicians a stage to showcase their skills within a collective and collaborative theatre company.”

Four weeks of rehearsals are now coming to an end prior to this unique performance on Sunday. Producer Verity Bartesch added: “This is so exciting; everyone involved comes from different backgrounds, all bringing fresh ideas and experiences. There doesn’t appear to be anything like this in Leicester at the moment.”

Leicester Market Development Manager Joe Harkin also commented: “We are always looking for new initiatives to broaden the use of this unique part of Leicester’s heritage and are happy to support Off the Fence Theatre Company with their play.”

In addition, there will also be a breathtaking bird of prey display to provide the perfect day out for the whole family.

The Arts and Crafts Fair will take place on Thursday 8^th, Friday 9^th and Saturday 10^th December.

Over the course of the week, Leicester Market’s Market Corner has a variety of different events and markets which cater for everybody’s tastes, offering the best in local produce and design.

On Thursday 3rd November Market Corner becomes ‘Fashion Corner’, with a plethora of different stalls on offer for all fashionistas.

Whether it be current fashion, new clothing or vintage attire – Market Corner is the place to be, with accessories and jewellery also on offer.

The fashion market at Market Corner runs from 9:00am until 4:00pm.
